I was googling around for sites to put into the new “blogs & websites” item in the sidebar here, and I came across a rarity: A contractor who offers tasteful fence solutions. The good news is, the contractor is local, based out of Elyria, and offers an intelligent argument for the use of White Cedar Boards vs. Red Cedar and Treated Boards for fences in this part of Ohio.
I’m assuming the finished product would at some point accept a good stain, and Cabot’s and California Paints still offer oil-based alternatives in solid, semi-solid, and semi-transparent coverages. Our house, for instance, has the body done in Cabot’s Spanish Moss solid and semi-solid and some of the trim done in California lighter and darker shades that we had custom-mixed at the old Blonder’s. Cabot’s uses the phrase “more than 100 nature-inspired colors” as a selling point for its line; California Storm Stains speak to “balance and harmony.”
